Visited on Christmas Eve(2017). Satisfied my visit. They explains and display all the history of Mardi Gras parades and props they make. At the end of tour they give out King Cake with baby doll inside (one doll per cake), and I happened to have one in mine. You get the ticket for the tour at gift shop desk.
This was one of our funnest excursions in NOLA. The warehouse is giant and the tour was awesome. First you watch a movie on the history of Mardi Gras. Then you do the tour. Then you can wander around and take lots of photos. Then you get a piece of king cake. You have to go here!!!!!!
We learned more from the 15 minute video then on the walking tour. The tour was not good. It was fun to see the floats and pieces placed on the floats but definitely not $20 a person worth of fun. You can see their best pieces on entering the gift shop and throughout the gift shop without paying. Don't waste your money.
This place was pretty neat for a school band tour. We got to see Mini Mardi Gras floats and decorations without the craziness. Each kid (and parent) got to make a Mardi Gras mask with paints and glitter. Cool senior band trip stop.
glad I did. The tour was very informative and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the whole subject of Mardi Gras. We were also able to go into the building next door, which was very cool, would love to be invited to a party there. The price was right and they even pick up and drop off, our driver was hilarious. I can't say enough..but definitely check it out.
