My husband is a real music lover and everywhere we travel he visits recordstores. Always looking for a new treasure. Many times these visits result in spontaneous conversations with employees. Music brings people together, right? Well, not in this store! The employees were sitting behind their desks, offered no help whatsoever and were very rude when my husband asked some information. What a big disappointment and a disgrace for a music mecca like New Orleans.
If you're still interested in VYNIL, this is a must do spot. This may be one of, if not THE LAST good old fashioned RECORD STORE in New Orleans. The place could almost pass for being a museum. My wife bought about a dozen records when we were in NOLA in October. Great and very knowledgeable staff and you will find some great, classic music if you've got a couple hours to spend looking through crates upon crates of wax, reminiscing about afternoons at the record store when you were growing up.

the guys were super friendly and very knowledgeable. I gave them only some vague ideas about what I liked and they directed me to 3 albums that were great. they also recommended some great live music. worth the trip. and there is a friendly cat, can't beat that...
If you love jazz music, you should visit this gorgeous shop: there is a huge collection collection of new and second hand vinyles, cd, pictures and so on!
