5 stars is not enough. Maybe all the stars in the local galactic cluster might suffice. 6 weeks after Katrina and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers devastated New Orleans, I has a heart attack. During communion at church. My pastor took me, at my request, to Ochsner. There they stabilized me and determined I needed 4 way by-pass surgery. They were severely understaffed and had few rooms open at the time. Under these difficult conditions, they did the by-pass surgery. They did an outstanding job, especially considering my obesity at the time. My treatment there was wonderful. They treated me like I was one of their children. Everyone was kind to me in spite of the extreme working hours, stress on the job and the staff losing nearly everything they owned to Katrina and the Corps. I am doing fine nearly 3 years later. Ochsner has done an outstanding job with my outpatient care for my heart and diabetes. I have since moved out of the New Orleans area and the care I have received in my new area has been at best 2 stars and in some cases minus 2 stars. It is incredible the high quality of care I got at Ochsner given that 80% of their staff was driven out of the area and couldn't return and most of those who did return lost everything they owned.
