Early Sunday afternoon my wife and I heard a live band and ended up walking into Fat Catz. It was a party in there, going strong while the rest of the quarter was pretty sleepy. Cheap drinks, didn't look like there was food, but I'm not sure. Nice open area to dance and watch the band. Two bars with good service. I'd give it five stars, but it's a bourbon street dive bar, so hard to stomach a full five. Check it out for an authentic NOLA live music experience.
Drinks were not bad but the band was horrible. Butchered songs and did not know all of the lyrics. Don’t waste your time or money. Go down the street to the Famous Door instead.
Great band, Ka-Nection, was playing great tunes. Glad we wandered in!

Live music!! Big dance floor. Easy in and out. Pretty bantenders. Tiny restroom.
