Really fun. Not many selections on food. Downstairs isn't very clean
What a great place to spend the day and have fun. I only make $2 bets. I haven't won anything yet but I also didn't lose much money. My husband actually won $38 on a $2 bet. A great fun, relaxed way to spend an afternoon.
The horse racing season begins on Thanksgiving day. It's fun and you can bet the horse races. The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage fest is held at the fair grounds during the off season, particularly the last weekend of April, & first weekend of May. The Jazz Fest is a "must do" event in New Orleans. Us natives are very proud of the Jazz Fest! (Better than Mardi Gras!)

Loads of fun on thanksgiving day. Everyone's in some sort of getup or costume. Generous turkey dinner too
