You could hear every sound made in the restroom in the main meeting room, and for normal times where three is a lot of people and music I'm sure it wouldn't matter.
Food was very good. Nice size portions couldn't finish my plate. Wife had an appy that was large enough for her dinner. And waitress (Allison) was best one we had since being here. Would recommend to anyone!
The decor was very interesting and artistic. Loved the subtle humor mixed in with the traditional religious pieces.
They did provide everyone with vouchers for a future show, and VIP access for the inconvenience. Though many were not local, it was a nice gesture.
The intricate layout is not confusing, but it is fun! It's a big venue and one of the best house of blues locations in my opinion. The artwork on the walls is interesting and modern, with a nod to the past. The media played on the TV's and put on stage all fit the aesthetic of whatever show is happening which is really cool. The bar was a little slow but it was understandable because a lot of people wanted drinks. I had a great night and would definitely attend another show.
Ordered a salad and an entree (chicken with a double order of sweet potato fries) to go at the bar. Was told it would take fifteen minutes. Came out 25 minutes later as food that was ordered in-- aka, on plates, ready to eat, salad already dressed and all. We told them it was supposed to be to go, to which they responded they would have to remake it. It then took 45 minutes to receive this new to go food. Nothing was comped, there was no apology, that was that. The food was alright, the salad was $16 and it was small. All of the prices were expensive. My friend's entree was even more than mine-- I believe it was $20? High prices, forgettable food, and poor service. So, from my experience, not worth it.
Went to Gospel Brunch my first missing in the city. A lot of the seats they're charging for have very very limited views. I had a fun brunch overall, and the music sounded great, but I couldn't see a thing. The buffet was hit and miss, some great stuff in there like the fried chicken, the mac and cheese, and the biscuits (oh god the biscuits). The real charmer here were the endless mimosas. A good touristy experience, ultimately felt a little cheap but I still had a good time and left with no regrets. I imagine the people sitting up front had a better time.
We had a private meeting here and we were originally in the lower floor room. It was fine st first, and then the male toilet backed up and the entire place smelled HORRIBLE. They moved us up to the upstairs room, where I believe they do a VIP thing in there on normal nights, but was much larger and comfortable.
