Great location and great service!!
Jenny took great care of us! We had the oyster shooters which were suprisingly very tasty and also the charbroiled oysters...yum!!
Mr Charles waited on us. He has a very dry personality . Was not friendly , had a horrible attitude when we asked questions . Then he was so busy thinking we Weren’t going to leave a tip he kept some of the money he owed us from breaking change . Manager was very nice to us unlike this employee . I noticed that the table that was non black got the attention as well we finally saw him break a smile. I waited table s for over 8 years and have seen other waiters stereotype races but never thought I would experience this myself. Mr Ed is supposed to have a high reputation and for this to be our first time . We will never be back . Food was ok. It’s not about the food as much as service as well. They go hand and hand . Still let a nice tip even though his service sucked .
Service was good but don't like that they don't offer a vegetable or toss salad with their platters. Don't want fries,potato salad, or rice with my meal. Vegetarian don't eat here. And to much batter on fish and oyster. Not for locals we know better.
I also ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes with shrimp and remoulade. The tomatoes were sliced so thin and then deep fried (not pan fried) that it was all grease and batter...tomatoes were impossible to taste or even find! Remoulade was not fresh or flavorful...small shrimp. Not a helpful waiter. Won't go back.
The food was good, but the server was not attentive. We had been seated for at least 15 minutes before anyone asked us of we wanted anything, and the person doing so was the manager. This was a very busy night, but we felt very neglected. The first food on our table didn't arrive until we had been seated for 45 minutes. That was for an order of raw oysters. The food, when we got it, was very good. Perhaps on a less busy night the service could be better.
Disappointing experience all around. Our dozen oysters were flavorful, but so tiny! When I asked the waiter if the oysters he served were typical or small, he said "Definitely small". OK...then make it right...bring us an extra half dozen at no charge...or whatever. But, nothing.
