A great place to hang out, enjoy some good music, and share av evening with friends. Not too crowded (it was a weeknight) and you have your choice of being right up front or hanging out back by the elevated bar area to enjoy the sights and sounds. Would definitely go back.
Waited over an hr. to sing. Went back up after 45 minutes of waiting and I was still on the same spot on the list. This karaoke place only chooses who they want on stage. Cheesy place. The host sings inbetween each singer and is not entertaining whatsoever. They never called me up. Anywhere else on Bourbon St. is better than this place! Drinks are watered down also.
Great karaoke bar! This club has awesome sound equipment that will make you sound good beyond yourself. I love how the whole place gets into everyone that sings. They make excellent drinks and have a nice patio out back to have a smoke.
I won't go back, group of guys sang gangsters paradise and thought it was okay to say the N word. Nobody cared but me and my friends. So, it made me incredibly uncomfortable. Homogeneous crowd, almost all white, which isn't indicative of New Orleans as a city or even as a tourist population. There are more fun more diverse places on bourbon street.
World Famous? MEH! The Cat's Meow is indeed a fun place. Very fun! I just don't get what is so "world famous" about it. Anything is bound to be fun in the neighborhood of Bourbon Street. Plenty of debauchery, decadence, degeneracy, and depravity all around, in other words FUN! You can find fun around every corner (literally). The question is what makes Cat's Meow stand out? They do have two levels, including a balcony facing the stage. The problem is the stage is typically filled with rather inebriated, but often overweight and generally unattractive ladies.
