I was a pharmacy technician for 20+ years.
Great way to spend a couple hours.
A must see. Very intrusive and interesting museum. Has 2 floors and a garden and only cost 5$. Don't miss the guided tour at 1pm - the most interesting, fun and informative guided tour I experienced in NO. With sometimes creepy, gruesome but true stories it tell you the history of NO: their people, medical history, health habits, soda origin, etc. Is an experience to remember. And thanks to the tour guide who tells the story so passionately.
I loved this museum.
Fascinating place. Was home and operating pharmacy. Amazing what has and has not changed! Tour at 1 probably a good idea tho they have a book for a self guided one
For $5, you can see a ton of cool old medical instruments and artifacts, not just pharmacy related items. They have laminated guidebooks you can use to read about some of the items, and if you read through everything, you could spend quite a long time here! There are two floors, and a cute outdoor space as well. If you have any interest in medical history, you should check it out!
So I found this place very interesting.
It is $5 for a self paced, take all the time you want tour.
You are free to go up to the second floor as well.
Self-guided tour but with lots of information. Pretty good educational experience, especially for $5, but probably nothing you couldn't get from a documentary. Would have preferred a guided tour for a little more money but this was still pretty good.
They encourage you to take pictures.
