Wonderful experience ! Just a heads up if you have somebody who is extremely interested in WWII plan on a full day or more. I was there 9-5 and saw close to everything. Wished I had a few more hours. So much to see. Exhibits are EXTREMELY well done. I really felt a human connection to the history through these exhibits. 10 stars !!!!!!!!!

Incredible museum. I would absolutely recommend spending the extra $ on the Final Mission and Beyond All Boundaries(4D)! Highly interactive and packed full of information in a very engaging way. Plan on spending an entire day there. Get there early so you don't miss anything. I'd say the best museum I've been to to date. I can't wait until my son is old enough, I will definitely be taking him. If you're a student, bring your ID for a generous discount.

When I'm in a museum I like to have a one way street to follow to make sure I saw everything in right order. When people just wander around like in this museum then it's easy to miss something. Dog tags didn't work. However some exhibitions are very nicely made with attention to details.

Oh my goodness. This museum is incredible. We got a late start on the day and were only able to spend 2 hours here before they closed at 5pm. On one hand I wish we had had more time, but on the other, the content was heavy. I wish we had split it in up into two visits two be able to really take it all in. The Wwii veteran greeters at the front of the museum were very helpful too. I highly recommend visiting this museum if you visit NOLA.

The layout and displays were top-notch. The home front section showed a side or World War II that is often overlooked. Unfortunately, the entire thing was also incredibly biased in a pro-USA pep rally sort of way. Yes, we were a major force in that conflict, but so were others such as the USSR and China. Both of these suffered loses that made ours pale in comparison. They also tied up Axis resources so that we never faced the entire strength of Germany and Japan. But there is little mention of this.

Yes, Americans toiled and died in liberating other countries, but we also incarcerated entire populations based solely on ethnicity and utterly failed to even attempt to protect other populations from genocide. While I am incredibly proud of my country, not to mention my father and father-in-law for serving on the fronts in both theaters, I am also honest enough to admit that we were not perfect and that we should strive to recognize and improve on those shortcomings. This museum should make an effort to help with that goal.
