As the reviews will say, the staff is incompetent. We reserved bikes the evening before, and the next morning we arrived very early (half hour after opening) to rent our bikes. They claimed to know nothing of our reservation we had made the night before, and told us they had no bikes left.
Rented bikes. Although their rates didn't match the website good machines. Well maintained friendly staff we saw New Orleans by bike
Go somewhere else this place is awful!!! I spoke with Johnny (the manager) twice before going to the location. He informed me I could show up and rent an electric scooter for my friend while we visited the great city of New Orleans. I called upon our arrival and spoke with Johnny (the manage) and he again told me just to come in, no reservation was needed, and we could rent the scooter no problem. We showed up to the location the morning after our arrival and no one had showed up to work yet. The man working the next business over was nice enough to call Johnny (the manager) and leave him a voicemail. I got a pen and piece of paper from the same nice man and left a note with my information on the stool behind the kiosk. I checked back in two hours later, it's noon, the place was suppose to open at 8am, still no one there. As I was about to leave the nice man at the next business over received a phone call. He told me he was told someone would be here in 10 minutes to help us. I waited for 30 minutes and then a young lady completely and still inebriated came into the store and was the employee who was suppose to have been at work since 8am. She could not make eye contact, had trouble standing and then had trouble balancing herself sitting on a stool, could not speak clearly, and I was having trouble understanding her. The nice man next door that had been helping us said he was certain she was still impaired from the night or early morning before. After 10 minutes of trying to understand and get a scooter rented from the impaired girl my handicap friend and I decided we did not trust this drug induced girl and were not comfortable giving our information and credit card information to this person. I told the impaired girl thank you and we were taking our business elsewhere. I was polite to the young inebriated lady, grab my friends hand and headed toward the door. On our way out we stopped and thanked the nice man for his help. He apologized all over the place for the impaired girl and horrible representation of the business. He proceeded to tell us he has seen bad business practices like this happen before and he hated seeing us waste almost 3 hours of or day. As we were leaving and walking out the door the girl came running screaming curse words and horrible inappropriate sayings. I really thought she was going to assault us but we just walked away and she did not follow us out the store. This was a horrible experience to say the least. My friend who is legally disabled could not get the service that was suppose to be provided. We had to go across town and rent a scooter. We wasted half the day dealing with this horrible business. I recommend you go to Mr Wheelchair.
Sadly this is the only place we found in this area to rent a mobile wheel chair. Picking up was a disaster. We waited 45 minutes for the employee to get to work. ( They never came before we left) The employee at the tour place got us the scooter finally while talking on phone. We were told to be here by 9 to return instead of 8. Because they now open at 9. No suprise it's almost 930 and no one here. Worst experience ever.
My experience with this company was excellent. We rented an electric wheelchair for the day to tour the FQ with guests from out of town. The business is located a short walk from Jackson Square, so it is convenient. We were assisted by a truly friendly young lady named Shannon, who I could tell was honestly concerned with meeting our needs as fast as possible. She worked quickly to make sure our guest in need was comfortable and then got us processed and out of the door quickly. She even accommodated an additional need we had that was probably outside of their scope of services. Before we left, she informed us that she would not be there when we returned, and told us who we would see in her place, which I found thoughtful. I believe the evening clerk was Heather, who was just as accommodating and friendly as Shannon. I recommend using this rental company if visiting the French Quarter and in need of a wheelchair. I didn't realize those wheelchairs were that expensive to rent, but I did shop around, and the cost was within the market rates for the metro area.
We ended up walking over to A Bicycle Named Desire and were greeted by friendly staff and a ton of great bikes for rental, and at a better price!
