This was our launching spot for our bus tour. We had a great guide who was very knowledgeable about the city and events surrounding Katrina. Definitely worth it.
It's a small building that can help you book reservations to some of the attractions. We were able to sit down inside and plan out our itinerary. There were people constantly walking up for information and the staff was helpful.
DON NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BOOKING HERE!!! We booked a tour cheap online through Groupon and was supposed to get picked up here. When we showed up, we were sold a different tour and then charged their booking fee’s on top. If you go there do it only to use their pamphlets and book your own tour or just go through Groupon.
The advertising shows the picture of a nice, big bus, but you ride a different one. It was aa smaller one and it was warm inside
My fiance' and I bought tickets for the City Bus Tour. Our tour guy was super funny and kept us entertained, but was also very knowledgeable of the city and we learned a lot! If you're looking for a little bit of the African-American history of the city, this isn't the tour for you (google hiddenhistory.us) . Be ware of Val in the office where you purchase tickets, she seems like a really sweet lady, but she can be super rude and unprofessional to the customers and the her colleges unfortunately. I truly felt bad the poor guy. I would recommend it if you're looking to see the city, learn about the city and get a up close and personal history and timeline of Hurricane Katrina.
