While cleanly updated with paint and furnishings, it still is an aged building. Quaint, historical, and with great service. Elevators are a bit noisy with their dinging, so pick a room away from them. Cell service is challenging in the lower floor level rooms unless you are on the outside rooms due to tall brick buildings around you. Concierge service is outstanding and breakfast is served with your stay. Good choice for those that like a personality in their hotels.
My friend, Victoria Fernandez and I had the opportunity to stay at your hotel from September 9-12, 2016 and we had a wonderful experience. Your staff that was on duty during our stay were very professional, friendly, and accommodating. I rated your hotel a 5-star because of one of your employees--Michelle Nelson, your concierge. He went beyond the call of duty. He was awesome!!! We were two women traveling alone and he made sure we were safe with transportation. What a blessing he was. I do plan to return to New Orleans in the near future and I sincerely hope he is still employed there. I do have a suggestion. I was informed the hotel is planning on installing a dining are for some type of continental breakfast in the morning. Your sitting area is beautiful but it would be so comforting to sit in the morning and have a cup of coffee and socialize with other guest. Thank you for this experience. I was blessed to be referred to your hotel. Keep up the good work.
Honestly don't know how this place is still open...Shower curtain won't close and bathroom door won't stay closed. The sink in the bathroom is literally crammed in the corner and is so small it makes you laugh. Red stain on the window curtain (looks like dried blood). The pull out couch is broken (most of the springs holding it on the frame were broken off and the mattress was touching the ground). Signs ask you not to bring up breakfast food but there's no breakfast...Says there's vending on my floor but there isn't, and the vending machines in the lobby look like they haven't been restocked in a couple of years. Also it says there's free parking but that's because there isn't any right now. You have to use the hospital parking deck and it's $20 a night. Perfect destination for the TV show Hotel Impossible. Only positive was friendly staff
My stay at this hotel was awesome! It was a last minute booking due to a disastrous AIRBNB stay, but they accommodated me quickly. I showed up at 6 am, asking for a room and they had one ready for me by 9! In the time I was waiting, I got to do laundry which was such a perk to have right in the building. The front desk staff are awesome to deal with and my room was awesome. Nice view and very cute and cozy. You can tell the hotel is a bit dated but I really was happy with the stay and loved hanging out in my room while waiting for friends. The hotel is right on Canal street too and it was easy to take the street car up and down Canal street. I will be staying here again the next time I visit New Orleans. Thank you!
I reserved this room to surprise my girlfriend for a trip to New Orleans for her birthday. Sadly, she couldn't make it so I had to cancel. I gave over 24 hour cancellation and they then refused to refund my money saying the fine print stated they needed 72 hours notice. I still haven't found that fine print.
