Helpful staff, nice rooms. Safe neighborhood not far from the FQ.
Excelent location and nice room, Continental breakfast could use some additional items, but great stay
It was just a stop overnight between trains, so we were a very late check in and very early check out, so we were not able to meet any of the staff or try the food. There was very good communication through text with the owners and they were very accommodating when I realized there was not am elevator and my mom would not be able to climb stairs. They moved us downstairs. Rooms are not really handicap accessible, but we managed and appreciate their efforts to accommodate us.
Naz& Zak, thank you for opening up your warm and beautiful home. Naz, although you were not feeling well, I appreciate the wonderful and tasty smoked Gouda burger and excellent coffee, and of course the encouraging conversation from you and your beautiful daughter, who also drove me to the guest house with a smile. Zak, thank you for setting the tone and getting everything together and well planned out and of course the wonderful upgrade to what I call the penthouse. I simply loved the separate living/lounging quarters and wonderful upgrades and I lived for the kitchen and bath, and balcony area. It is not often to meet such great owners and have such a personable communication however, you both identify uniqueness and greatness. The staff and food at the Silk Road rest. is absolutely the best. my hats off to ( Michelle: Chef G; Snow; the guys who carried my bags up/down the stairs and a host of others I do not recall by name). Michelle, thank you for going above and beyond and picking me up in your personal vehicle and taking the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone all while making certain I was comfortable and wanted for nothing. You are the best manager. Michelle & Zak answered everyone one of my calls and text immediately. Thank You. I will see you soon as I am always in NOLA and the Balcony Guest House is my number one choice. Again, THANK YOU! Toni
A nice guest house situated close to the French Quarter. The neighbourhood is great and the variety of nearby bars, restaurants and cafes is huge. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The Guest House is next to (and owns) a restaurant that serves some good Indian food. The only downside was that breakfast is served at 9am, which might be too late, especially for those visiting on business trips. Nevertheless I highly recommend this place.
