I had reserved a room with a king bed, but upon arrival, we were told we would have to be switched to 2 queens. There was maintenance being done to the building, so there really wasn't much that could be done about it. The lobby was nice, rooms were clean, except for our bath tub. The beds were comfortable. The only other thing that would have been nice would be a mini fridge.
It seems like this hotel was recently renovated. The hotel is situated at one of the most sought after locations in the French Quarter of New Orleans, right on the corner of Bourbon Street & Canal Street and convenient to everything throughout the Quarter. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are fairly large, furnished very nicely, the beds are comfortable, and even the pillows (my big gripe in a lot of hotels), are reasonably comfortable (although I still wish I had my down pillows with me). The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We called for extra towels and they were there quickly, same with other requests we had and even when we had to spend an additional night because our flight was cancelled, they were able to get us a room at the same rate we came in at (we were there on a convention rate initially). While I prefer other hotel chains usually, this was a good choice for us for the week that we were there.
Spacious room, big bathrooms, in room safe, great view to major street and nice restaurant downstairs for dining. Quiet hotel even though on a very busy street. Parking took a long time and waiting for valet to return my car was ridiculous. The concierge desk was slow to send anyone up with a cart however they didn't want me to get the cart on my own and bring it up to my room. So there goes the five star service! Otherwise everything else was okay.
I had a very nice stay at this hotel. The staff were all nice and helpful. The lobby is beautiful and there was a Christmas lightening event with Santa Claus which was super cute. The location is perfect, Canal and Bourbon. It was loud at night. I could hear the music on Bourbon street, but thankfully it didn't last all night.
Spent three nights at this location earlier this week and other than the hotel being aesthetically pleasing, everything else was atrocious. The first night we arrived there was no one at the valet station which led to an hour wait in traffic. Requested car pull up to retrieve some items and both times they just said they would grab the things I wanted and bring them around. About an hour wait each time. Hallway carpet was soaking wet. Upon ordering my car to check out, noticed that someone had stolen my handgun that I had locked away in the glove box and various papers I had in there strewn across the floorboard. Windows were left rolled down while it rained and resulted in drenched seats and carpets. My girlfriend also had her brand new Kindle Fire stolen from our room and no one could help with either that or the missing gun. Would rather sleep on the street than stay at this location again. Do not trust anyone here, from the maids to the valet service and up. Took a great trip and absolutely ruined it.
