Honestly this place is not worth the hype. The price looks right but unfortunately youre better off paying the price for a hotel. We informed them when we booked wed be flying in at night, around 2200 and be there at 2230, two months in advance. We even gave them a courtesy call the day before, which took 3 phone calls since they couldnt respond. They informed us wed have to pay a fifty dollar charge for someone to be here when we arrived. What actually happened was they took more than 45 minutes to let us in. Thank god another couple let us in after half that time. When the woman came to let us in we found out she was getting some take out rather than awaiting our arrival. We tried to dispute the fifty dollar charge with the "manager" who literally could not say more than "well she waited until ten and then went out for pizza, the website says there is a fifty dollar charge." He kept inquiring as to who we spoke to when we gave those instructions and refuse to believe it when we said " I spoke to you on the phone", we even offered to show him the original emails from months ago but he refused to acknowledge them as well. The best part is, during our stay here we learned another couple had the EXACT same experience just a few nights before. Im not sure if management and staff changed recently but do not believe the previous reviews. O, they also didnt inform us of when breakfast times and there isnt a waste bin in the room at all. The only source of air flow within the room is a dusty old ceiling fan as well. Wouldnt recommend this place to people I dont even like. They even made me change my review of their establishment once they saw it after our first horrible night before they would permit us breakfast. The shower was an absolute disaster as well considering there was no hot water evem after 20 minutes of running it.

I stayed here and I loved it. I would like to stay here again.

Great location and a cool little hotel in a gorgeous old building. Staff was extremely friendly and provided everything we asked for. The themed rooms are quirky and fun if that's what you're into, but be aware the amenities vary by room, ie you might only have a bathtub or only have a shower, etc. Breakfast was simple but enjoyable. Overall I'd say it's not a luxury experience but the house is beautiful and yours to enjoy while you are guests. Definitely a great New Orleans experience.

Where to begin? This place is beautiful, however parking is not provided so if your lucky, you'll be able to park right in front or on the side of the mansion on the street. They have a courtyard which would be perfect for parking but they don't allow you to do so even though the only thing in the courtyard is a water fountain that is close to the mansion. Our room description said we would have an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, and robes to help make our stay more comfortable. There were no robes, no hair dryer, no robes, and yes there was an iron but no ironing board which kind of defeats the purpose of the iron when there really isn't a place to to iron...the continental breakfast was alright. From people who supposedly get their breakfast items and coffee from a local bakery the food was alright at best. Needless go say, while the price is right ( or at least is was for me) I just don't feel like the mansion lived up to the hype on the website.

We stayed at the Magnolia Mansion after our cruise when we had a few days to stay in New Orleans. The staff was very friendly and even upgraded our room. They provided a continental breakfast which was sufficient and allowed us to park in the loading/unloading zone since it wasn't very busy. The only kicker was that there was no hot water and no housekeeping, at least not while we were there. Housekeeping isn't a big deal but hot water is typically expected in any sort of lodgings. I'm not sure if their heater was out of service during that time.
