Rooms are clean, conference facilities adequate but the staff are definitely the star here. The low rating however, is well deserved because of the horrible valet service. My husband booked a conference for his professional board here at the Marriott. We arrived late on Thursday for a 3 day conference and valet parked when we arrived. We have an electric car and this hotel does not have accommodations so on Friday I asked for my car so I could go charge. When I went down to get in my car the bizarre conversation went like this....”Mrs. Stephenson, that sure is a nice car.” I agreed and started what I thought was a fun conversation about my car when he added. “How much did it cost?” Taken aback and thinking I was talking to a rude child, my face reflected my thoughts and he rephrased, “Well let me put it this way. “Was it less than 100k or less than 100k?” Skipping some details, I was told that he would not valet park my car when I got back because they are not allowed to park expensive cars. He had evidently googled the car to presume it’s worth. When I came back (hoping for a change of shift) I was told to park on the street and they indeed did not valet nor did they let my personally go park my car in the secured lot. The concierge was sympathetic attempted to help but the manager (BK) was not willing to budge on the policy. I asked him to meet me half way but refused. After some back and forth and behavior I’m not particularly proud of, he allowed me to park closer to the entrance on the street. Although I am thankful for the concession I am adamant that I am not the only person to have a nice car in the city of New Orleans and I’m feeling generous at a 2 star rating. #hopeidontgetsideswiped
I can't say enough about this place. The bellhop here is amazing. Even though we never stayed here, we came from out of town and needed to put our bags somewhere while our air BNB was getting ready so we could walk around and see the sights. This was the only place that I could find from a tip I found online and for a small fee they held our bags and got a cab for us. What great people and customer service in the front of the hotel and when we are in town will go back and stay!
From being greeted at the curb by the valet staff to being helped out with our bags at the end of our stay, this visit was impeccable! Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and we enjoyed everything about our stay. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, the room comfortable and beautifully appointed, and the overall experience was a 10!! Thank you all for making our convention trip a memorable one!!
The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly (Katelyn at front desk, Patrick in concierge). We had an issue in our room and maintenance came by and left a chocolate hammer and a kind note. The room was very clean, housekeeping was friendly and attentive. Excellent hotel, thank you so much for the great stay!
I recently stayed at this property on a business trip and I cannot compliment the front desk, as well as the Concierge staff enough! Jovonne at the front desk was so gracious and accommodating and all the staff on the Concierge level were friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy making our stay even more welcoming! I would especially like to thank Mark, Patrick and (my apologies) the Indonesian gentleman who treated us as if we were guests in their home. The offerings for breakfast and lunch in the Concierge room were excellent! The only slight downfall was housekeeping. The first few visits were above and beyond. After that, housekeeping went downhill. On one occasion, housekeeping really didn't do anything except make the bed. This is a fixable and trainable issue as, on the overall, service here was outstanding! It was not my first stay at this Marriott and I have found it to be consistent each and every time.
