This place is amazing. My wife and I wanted to stay someplace unique for our honeymoon and took a chance on this place. Didn't disappoint at all. The staff was very friendly, rooms were adorable and it was in perfect walking distance to everything! The only somewhat annoying thing was that airport shuttles and other shuttle companies never heard of the place so it was hard to get a pickup, but on the other hand it was nice to be in a place that not everyone knew about. If we come back we will definitely stay here again.
Hotel was nice! Very charming with exposed brick walls. Rooms were nice and spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only thing that bothered me was that my card was ran for more than double the price of the room as a security hold.
The rooms are massive, clean and up to date. The suite we stayed in had a pull out couch in the front with a big tv, complementary coffee and a nice fridge. The bathroom is amazing, nice flowing shower, big picture mirror and beautiful windows. The huge queen bedroom is a welcome sight at the end of the day. Pair all of that with a friendly and attentive staff and that in a nutshell wraps up a stay at the Merchantile.
The beds were comfortable, stylish, the location very convenient. The service on the other hand, really sucked in our check-in. They did not even had blankets or towels in our room so we had to come downstairs and wait for them. They never brought extra blankets after calling room service either. It's cheaper than other hotels nearby but be warned you're sacrificing getting any good service from anyone that works there.
I've loved staying at this hotel. I love the brick walls in the room. It's located in the warehouse district, but it's not far from Bourbon Street. The room are clean and very nice. The complimentary coffee is a plus. The beds are comfy. This was my first time staying in New Orleans, and staying at this hotel has been a wonderful experience. Professional and helpful staff. Keisha at the front desk was very kind and patient. I've stayed at some hotels were the front desk was subpar. This was not the case with Keisha and the rest of the staff here at The Mercantile. If I ever come back to New Orleans I will definitely be staying here again.
