Would definitely come back and recommend to a friend. It's only a short walk to the french quarter which is a huge plus.
This place was very nice and extremely accommodating-the rooms were clean. The staff was extremely nice- the room temperature were comfortable-the water pressure was great! The beds were spacious and the entire floor was quite. Coffee in the lobby, just wish they had tea as well. Close to everything!! I had two young ones with me and we had no issues walking anywhere. Will stay here again, I highly recommend this place.
The red wine in a can is f***** awful BTW, don't try it.
A nice, up to date hotel with a good downtown location. Very nice with modern decor. Fairly small room with virtually no bathroom privacy due to a thin sliding door that didn't fully close. You can also easily hear noise and conversations from surrounding rooms. But overall a nice, very clean place with friendly staff.
First and foremost, I am a fan of Hilton properties. I also travel a lot for business. As a result of these two things, I focus on staying on a property that treats me well, has good service, clean rooms and, comfortable beds. The staff was perfect, helpful, responsive and professional as at every other Hilton property. The bed/pillows were likewise comfortable and provided a good sleep. However, I'm old and potentially cranky when things aren't performing as I feel they should. One of the things I like is irons and ironing boards in the room. The Troubadour had a steamer, and I don't like steamers because they often fail to get out the deep wrinkles that suitcases inspire. To be fair, I didn't inquire if they had irons/boards that can be used in the room upon request. Considering its a Hilton, I would be amazed if they didn't. So, ultimately, my bad for not inquiring. But still, its an iron. I want it IN the room. I've ironed on beds, countertops and sinks successfully. A steamer doesn't offer the same service as an iron. Thrown in the stupid steamer if you must but give me a dang iron and ironing board, please. The Troubadour is a visually appealing hotel. Recently updated, simple and elegantly styled. Definitely targeting a different person than I am, one that heavily values style and looks over function. It LOOKS GREAT. As a matter of fact, it really is impressive and nicely styled. But...the sink is square. Completely square, with a perfectly flat bottom. This means that left over shaving cream, soap, or anything else you're trying to put down the sink doesn't actually go, DOWN the sink. It has to be coaxed. To me, this is bad style. It can look great but, it should perform its basic function. The 'closet' is also one of these. Its where you put things that you don't want to see, or to be seen. Especially in a hotel room where you're not going to be for the bulk of the day. It's open. Again, it looks GREAT, but, it fails at its basic function. The room, is very nice indeed. Looks great and very comfortable. The bathroom is also very nice. But give me an iron and ironing board in the room, please. Don't make me ask for it. There's a reason that I stay almost exclusively in Hilton's. I can do things when I want to do them without waiting for a 'delivery'.
Clean, modern rooms. Bed is extremely comfortable and has adequate pillows. 5th star withheld because it's slightly louder and brighter than most places.
Everyone was knowledgeable about things to do in New Orleans. The front desk staff and concierge were especially helpful. Our room had a retro feel, but all of the amenities were very modern. The staff was allowing hurricane victims to have their birds and dogs stay, but we had no noise issues at all. The Monkey Bar on the roof was a pretty good place to start or finish an evening. 2 blocks from Canal Street. We had an amazing experience all-around
Staff was very helpful and catered to our every whim. Would have LOVED a snack later into the night (kitchen closed, it's currently 11AM) but no late night snacks. Otherwise, there is a great variety of food and drinks available to your room.
