Well, another 30 minutes. All the servers were serving FRIED foods were served to everybody except us. All the servers were passing by with their fixed vision, without making any eye contact with us.
Honky-tonk the bartender was amazing...with some of the best shucked oysters in the city. Flowing Cajun Bloody Mary's and Mimosas aside from the eggs Benny. ..all and all A* ....the mornings are better there for there drink specials and brunch. Eves there busy and lively. .you may have to wait for service or table.
We asked who he was and he said that he was the owner. I asked “Where have you been for that long?”
After giving up the wait, I asked a manager about the delay and he said that the oven broke down and food will be served “soon”.
The food, service, and atmosphere were so wonderful that we came back, not just once more for dinner, but also for breakfast and bloody Mary's on the day we were flying out of NOLA!
When we were leaving then another person came, blocked my way and even touched my body asking to stay and even offered 50% off of the price! What a generosity!
Readers, you judge the scene: New Year’s Eve, hungry customers, foods served to others though, 90 min wait, no update, no apologies, all other stores were closed, blocking the door, touching the customer’s body by the so called owner, owner unaware about the burnt down oven.
Absolutely amazing! The food is fantastic, with fresh seafood and a nice twist on traditional NOLA dishes.
The oysters are great! I could have eaten them all night long. The gumbo was better than what I tried at gumbo fest. But best of all, the employees treated my boyfriend and I like family. That gave it an authentic New Orleans feel and I can’t wait to return!
Do not pass this place up!
Excellent place to eat & drink. The happy hour was really good. The oysters raw and chargrilled were some of the best I have had in the city, Would recommend multiple times over.
Then we asked another server that “ Should we leave?” He said “ What do you think?”
Is there anything negative rating?
It is New Year’s Eve and we went to this place as we had good experience before. We were waiting for 30 minutes and the server showed up and told us that there were some problem in the kitchen and the food would bee served in “seconds” . Well, we were waiting for another 30 minutes and nobody showed up. I wanted to have my cocktail with the fried oyster. So my cocktail was also waiting for me.
We came here the first visit for fresh oysters which were perfect.
