The food is always really great especially at this location of Juans. Do yourself a favor and start with the chips and trio and go ahead and get a pitcher of whatever margarita tickles your fancy, they have an extensive margarita menu. The only negative is the staff seems to be perpetually moody. I'm all for a little sass in a wait staff but this isn't some light hearted sass, it's more a could care less kinda attitude. But they do everything else so right!
excellent food and a young atmosphere to accompany an age old tradition, eating tacos on Thursday. Food was timely, added ingredients were worth the price which in comparison to typical Mexican restaurants isn't all that far off the beaten path. There's another taco place very close and instead I went here because although this isn't family run all Latin establishment it serves better food; and I can say that.
Juan's is some of the best Mexican- American food you can find in NOLA. They offer excellent meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Extensive cocktail/margarita menu. They also offer nice seasonal options. Food is made fresh and tastes like it. Great hot sauce, and i love their chips and salsa.
Giant servings. You won't go away hungry. You might even leave with a doggie bag. The Super Green burrito is delicious! Great for vegans. But, if you allow yourself to cheat a little then get it dressed with melted cheese. Also, the top shelf margarita excellent. Tip: order the double and split it with a friend/date.
The blackened Louisiana style fish tacos were fabulous, with a kick. For $11, I got three good-sized tacos - can't complain about that! Got an extra side of rice and beans and went home with a doggy bag. Large portions, cool setting, great food. I'll be back!
