Yesterday I went with 2 friends. We let the staff know we would like to sit outside, with acknowledgement from the staff. There was only 1 table in use at the time on the patio. The restaurant was slow so it seemed. In the 15 minute we waited, 2 servers both made several passes by our table, never offering any service or even menus. I only know the time because we were using a parking app. Both servers actually made eye contact with me, but never initiated actual service???
No, it's become the normal situation the past 3-5 times I've attempted to visit.
I've been to Tacos and Beer many times. Food's good and service was fine. Recently (a week ago) they did away with their $1 happy hour tacos. When my wife and I went in on Thursday, I ordered a beer and looked at the menu for tacos. When I went to order 5 tacos the waitress then says that the old happy hour specials are no longer available. The sign on the wall says $3 draft during happy hour. OK, fair enough, I'd ordered a draft. Then the waitress tells me, "Oh, sorry, the beer you ordered isn't $3, it's just a select few. (This fact is not mentioned on the sign). The bartender explained that they didn't charge me more than the regular price. Wow! Imagine how thrilled I was. He also mentioned that their signs were wrong, but they hadn't changed them yet. So, I guess customers are supposed to know the price by osmosis. Imagine ordering a $10 burrito and being charged $15 because they hadn't changed the menu - but meant to. They have the right to have or not have "happy" hour, but right after making a change they might want to let people know. The place was usually fairly full at this time of day and we were the only ones in the place. Except for the four waiters all waiting for customers.
Great food, adult drinks and outstanding customer service. Very clean restrooms. Indoor and outdoor dinning. Open weekdays 11am to 12 midnight Sun 11am to 10pm
Went in as they opened to grab a quick lunch before a teleconference meeting down the street. Service was prompt, helpful and friendly. The battered fish tacos were light and delicious with the perfect amount of heat in the chipotle sauce. Inexpensive, good food, plenty of space for large parties, outdoor and bar seating. Easy to access from the St Charles Streetcar and did I mention how yummy the fish tacos were? If I lived here I'd be a regular; I'll have to do with stopping in on visits to try other dishes.
Service staff = sad about life choices
Taco quality = not sure, can't get the wait staff to do their job, which requires greeting the customer & taking their order.
I know weird right?
Cause you took the job... service industry
I know tacos. That being said, this place could be a winner. If the service staff wasn't picked last at kickball in grade school. I've attempted to go here several times for their taco Tuesday special. However, the only thing Special I find @ tacos & beers, is the bar & service staff. Tacos actually taste good, if the staff decides to serve you.
Although I didn't have the beer, the tacos sure we're good. I mean they were really good. We went for lunch and it wasn't too crowded or anything. The price was just right and the service exceptional. I certainly dig it.
